JSSgallery.org is an enormous, award winning site concentrating on the life and work of the American artist, John Singer Sargent. This wonderful project is the brainchild of our good friend, Natasha Wallace. The sheer time, effort and dedication which has gone into this site cannot be underestimated. Natasha has also included images and information about other artists associated with Sargent, including William Ranken. If you are interested in Sargent's work, this is 'the' site to visit.
Artistsfootsteps.co.uk is a site dedicated to landscape artists associated with the Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland. This evolving site was launched in January 2006 and one of the artists included is William Ranken, on account of his association with Dalswinton House, just north of Dumfries.
Artrenewal.org describe themselves as "...the largest on-line museum on the internet. A work in progress, steadily expanding with thousands of high quality images of the greatest paintings and sculpture in history, the Art Renewal Centre is building an encyclopedic collection of essays, biographies and articles by top scholars in the field." Quite a claim, but one which they live up to.
